Established in 2005 as a full subsidiary of the Medical University of Vienna, MUVI is a global player in international healthcare management, consultation, and know-how transfer and provides expert healthcare consultation worldwide, resulting in international collaborations in Central and Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa, and Europe.

Mag. Elisabeth Chalupa-Gartner is the Managing Director for the Medical University of Vienna International (MUVI) and has held this position since the company’s inception in 2005. Under her leadership, MUVI has become a results-driven international healthcare consultancy group.
Prior to assuming her role as MUVI Managing Director, Mag. Chalupa-Gartner was appointed the Vice Rector for Finance, Facilities Management, and IT Management at the Medical University of Vienna. She has an educational background in business administration and healthcare management from the University of Vienna and has extensive experience in various management positions in international companies.
Her areas of expertise include business re-engineering, change management, and strategy development.

Director of International Affairs and Chairman for the Department of Medical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna, and holds a joint faculty appointment with the Department of Radiology at Johns Hopkins University, USA. Prof. Dr. Herold is a pioneer in the field of pulmonary computer tomography and advocates interdisciplinary scientific cooperation.

Prof. Dr. Christian J. Herold is the Director of International Affairs and Chairman for the Department of Medical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna, and holds a joint faculty appointment with the Department of Radiology at Johns Hopkins University, USA. Prof. Herold is a pioneer in the field of pulmonary computer tomography and advocates interdisciplinary scientific cooperation. As such, he is a member of a large number of professional societies, the majority of which he has also headed as president. He has been a guest professor at prestigious institutions such as Stanford University, Cornell University, Cambridge University and Duke University, and is widely published in scientific peer-reviewed journals.
Prof. Dr. Franz Kainberger
Program Director
Prof. Dr. Franz Kainberger is Deputy Chief of the Division of Neuroradiology & Musculoskeletal Radiology, Deputy-Director of the Medical School at the Medical University of Vienna, and Medical Director of the Computer Image Analysis (CIR) Lab. Main research interests are in the field of musculoskeletal radiology (focussing on rheumatology, sports medicine, and orthopaedic oncology), in computer-assisted imaging, and in radiation protection. He served as President of the Austrian Society of Radiation Protection (2005 – 2011, strahlenschutz.org), President of the College of Physicians of Vienna (2011 – 2015, billrothhaus.at), President of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (2018-2019, essr.org), Chairman of the Radiation Protection Subcommittee of the European Society of Radiology (ESR, 2019-2022), and President of the Society of Friends and Supporters of the Josephinum Collections, Vienna (2018 – 2021, josephinum.ac.at).
Prof. Dr. Gerhard Zlabinger
Program Director
Prof. Dr. Gerhard Zlabinger is a specialist in Immunology. His professional life is characterized by a strong commitment to research and teaching activities as well as to curriculum development and implementation in the health care sector. These efforts resulted in the appointment for full Professor in Clinical and Experimental Immunology as well as to the Director of the undergraduate medical curriculum and Head of Teaching Centre at the Medical University of Vienna. From 2000-2009 also Scientific director of the Academy for Training Biomedical Analysts at the General Hospital of Vienna and as such contributed to the establishment of a high standing education at the academic level also for this profession. From 2010 – 2012 President of the Austrian Society of Allergology and Immunology. He published more than 200 scientific papers and book chapters as author or co-author and has been involved in various activities of national and international scientific associations and other professional organizations. Research interests in the field of Immunology are immune tolerance, immunomodulation, complement regulation and immunometabolism.

Main focus: Digital teaching, information visualization, digital learning concepts and case-based learning. Co-Founder of the start-up nxtgen.at
